My most recent watercolor -- PAPERMILL CREEK

Papermill Creek, watercolor by Will Noble

This is a view of Papermill Creek as it runs through Samuel P. Taylor (California State) Park. I started this watercolor in the summer of 2016, and it has the warm feel of a summer day with sunny reflections and a shading canopy above. Now that the painting is completed, it's almost winter! Things change. But a painting captures a moment in time forever.

How I spent my summer vacation...and more.

For the past three years I’ve been a participating artist in Marinscapes, an annual showcase of about thirty Marin County landscape artists in late June, with proceeds from sales benefiting the Buckelew Programs.

I took time off from my landscape painting to focus on a project I have long wanted to do: illustrating the lyrics of Peter, Paul & Mary’s song ‘Autumn to May’ as a book.

This was a very different kind of challenge for me, drawing from my years of character animation in the video game industry, creating images and metamorphoses – my favorite thing! The completed project is now a limited first edition hardcover book with 32 pages of color illustrations. All copies of Tales from Autumn to May have sold! But happy to make a list of anyone interested in a second edition.

Currently I am about three-quarters finished with a 20” x 15” watercolor of Papermill Creek in Samuel P. Taylor Park. Of course, like all my work, it will also be available as a giclĂ©e print.

As always, I am happy to have visitors to my studio. So contact me and set up a visit!
